I hope I will soon receive my ordered Pocket Camera.
I want a lens around 12-14 mm and as fast as possible.
Any suggestions?

Why not buy a Panasonic 7-14mm lens which can give you a wide angle shoot.

The SLR Magic 12mm 1.6 might be what you are looking for

Seconded, this is the fastest lens available in that focal range (that isn't a toy lens). Plus it equates to ~35mm lens on the Pocket, a very useful focal distance on any camera.

About "best"..what is best? There is no better lens,just the better choice for each project.

For example,I´ve some super sharp lens,but I don´t want these lens for shot a beautiful girl,I prefer something more soft. Women aged 30+ will thank you

Well I know this after 30 years as a DOP but I would never invest in a soft lens just for women .
If needed I would use filters or soften it afterwards. If I buy a soft lens I would be in the s-t when needing the sharpness.

Frankly I am not sure old s16 lenses are sharp enough (except for older women .-).

That's the one attached to the camera when BM presents the camera on their site.

wide and fast, I'd say Tokina 11-16 nikon w/ G Speedbooster. But obvious not a prime lens.

But it'll be super sharp, super wide, and really fast for that focal length. Cheers

Anyone think the Leica 25mm 1.4 would be good for the BMPCC?.. I have it for my GH2 and is always my go to lens. It sadly does not have IS but is super fast and a good focal length.

I'd suggest also the SLRMagic 12mm.
Alternatively I'd take the Voigtlander Nokton 17.5mm f/0.95.
It has the FOV of a normal 35mm lens on the Pocket and is sharp wide open.

From what i can here in this video (at 1:19) the pocket camera has a 1.3 crop factor.


Would that not make the 12mm lens a 16mm ?
unless i am missing something !

This would make the SLR magic 23 mm or 50 a good choice also.

That 1.3 crop is comparing the BMCC''s sensor (2.3 crop).
The actual crop comparing 35mm still camera fullframe is 2.8 or 3x.

A 12mm lens on the BM Pocket CC will look as a 35mm on fullframe camera.

Right, 12mm would equal 35mm on full frame, and the 17mm is a "normal" lens on Super 16, giving a crop view of a 50mm lens. 25mm Pany/Leica lens would be about 72mm, a nice M/S interview lens on
The Pocket. I have the 12mm SLR, nice lens, a 17mm Tokina (Nikon mount), and 25mm Pany/Leica lens for my Pocket when it arrives. I think a three make a nice basic "Prime" lens kit. I also have the Four Thirds Leica 12-50mm zoom, it and the 25mm were left over from my Pany AF100. Can not wait to try them on the PCC. Denny

Just tried to be amusing with a joke. No offense Mr Östlund.

In any case,I prefer the character of some Cooke,Panavision C,even a 1970 Lomo to a Tokina or whatever new still photo lens.
For me these "old" lens make digital more organic.
Man,the "women lens" was a joke,take it easy ...But if I have to close up a beautiful woman I´ll do with a Macro Panatar,non with a C series

Goodoint. But the SLR M 12mm is not a still lens, it is a cinema/videomlens with a long focus throw and dec-clicked f/stops. However, it could be used for still, I suppose.

It sure can. I've done it a few times with my GH3. It's an excellent lens as far as image quality goes, in spite of being a bit flare prone. In fact, I've ended up using my 28mm Minolta and 12mm SLR Magic lenses for the majority of my cinematography. I would like to add a lens to my kit that sits in the middle like one of the 17mm Voigtlanders, but my budget won't allow that yet. I'll get there eventually, though

I didn't get my bmpcc yet (pre ordered on 4.8.13) but I just got a bunch of lenses as I wait... even though I have the bmc ef one I thought I should get the pocket as a B camera plus I am waiting for my Gimbal to arrive from poland and figured it will be easier to fly the pocket rather then the ef one... (even though the gimbal i am making will support up to 9 LB)
the lenses I got are:
Lumix 14mm f.2.5 ( I also got the wide converter that is made for this lens which will give me 11mm f2.5)
sigma 30mm 2.8
zuiko 45mm 1.8
zeiss tevidon Jena 10mm f 2 (C- mount)
Zeiss tevidon Jena 25mm f1.4(C- mount)

Yes, the Zuiko and Ziess are both excellent lenses. As for a 17mm (normal lens), Ingot an older Tokina 17mm 3.5 lens at a great deal on eBay. Tried it on my Nikon, very sharp.

Hey Robbing
No offense taken, just a bit tired of all people with minor experience of cinematography making statements on how things are or should be done. But this is another topic and I am sure you are not one of those.
I will get my camera today and have ordered the simple Lumix 14 mm to be able to get started. After this I will test some other lenses. I am grateful to your suggestions and others.
