Can the BMCC label clips like on the BMPCC?

At the Los Angeles event in July I saw that you could add meta data to a clip. Name, Keywords, etc. Can you do that in the BMCC yet?

The BMCC has been able to do this since the beginning.

hah, I thought so and coincidentally as I was reading your post thinking well where is the option, I was wiping my bmcc screen clean and the metadata box popped up, I must have accidentally double tapped the screen. I had searched through the all the menus and couldn't find the menu so was worried it wasn't in the bmcc. Are there any other double tap or triple tap features?

Well, what I did was read the manual. But, basically, it goes like this:

single tap: meta data
double tap: focus assist 1:1 zoom
triple tap: Mozambique Drill

No, the BMCC cannot do that.

It's SUPPOSED to do that, but it doesn't currently work with cDNG. So I would hazzard a guess it doesn't work with the BMPCC all that well either. Someone would have to confirm.

Go ahead, try inputting some keywords and such and try bringing your DNGs into Resolve....I'll wait.

Crappy eh?! I've reported this to BM support, but no update as of yet. I've simply been told "it works in Prores". Which it does do much better, but you won't get Take number (in ProRes or DNxHD).

So the effectiveness of the whole Slate tool is pretty much reduced to zero if you shoot RAW and is debatable for ProRes or DNxHD.

Better to still record all your shooting info the old fashioned way...paper and pen.

My understanding was that metadata for dng was recorded as a header of audio track. Is this not the case?

nope. Not showing up for me. In my audio header contains one meta data entry, "roll #". That's it.
