Buying a sophisticated rig for the BMCC can cost over 3000$, which in my humble opinion, is kind of exaggerated -- or let's just say it exceeds my requirements, which I think are pretty basic.

But I've scoured the internets and CANNOT find anything cheap and reliable to mount my BMCC.

Can anyone suggest an affordable rig solution to mount the following accessories to my camera?

Accessories:

1) Focusone Pro autofocus
2) Anton Bauer battery
3) Shotgun Mic


PS. Just looking for something I can straight up mount on my tripod. Doesn't need to look anything like the fancy pictures displayed on the homepage.

Look at the kamerar stuff, it's kinda heavy, but it's dirt cheap and will be fine for a tripod.

On of the cheaper baseplates for your camera is this one from ikan:

myself i'm going for the ikan baseplate with:

Gives me enough choices to put either follow focus or mattebox and batteries etc. on my camera, and enough room to expand it with cheap shoulder support stuff or more. Doesn't break the bank and those battery's run a bmcc for about 8+ hours.

I own one of the Kamerar shoulder rigs. They are excellent value and using the off-set bracket is great - it puts the BMCC in front of your face rather than in front of your shoulder, so there's no need for an additional monitor.

By the way, what is your impression of the FocusOne Pro Follow Focus?

A lot comes down to personal preference and budget.

I'll mostly be shooting on tripod(s), but for my shoulder rig I'm using carbon fiber rods and relatively small/light metal components (such a Wooden Camera BMCC baseplate), and locating the external battery behind & below my shoulder, to counter-balance the weight of the BMPC-4K (or BMCC) which will be in front of my face.

If (if) you'll have the camera's LCD in front of your face at a comfortable viewing distance, the weight on your arms will be considerable, and it'll be difficult to hold for more than a very few minutes -- unless the whole rig is kept as lightweight as possible and counter-balanced. Preferably counter-balanced by something useful, such as an external battery, mixer, etc., instead of a simple dead weight.

But again, everyone's preferences and budget is different.
