We were out yesterday on a shoot.

Used first time my new Bebob batteries

One lasted almost the whole day camera, evf and monitor attached.
Plenty of time just idling on battery.

I think that's the operative word. I've taken my canon on set to shoot BTS photos on a show I was working on and had a single battery last me ten hours without any problems, but that's because I was only shooting stills and just letting it sit around doing nothing. Once you start recording video is when your camera starts getting hungry.

and more stuff you add to the rig less time you get.

You could not shoot that long.

SSD would get filled before.

Today we were out shooting some stuff from 10 am to 6 pm.

Most of the time cam and evf were running. No power off. Canon lens in front with stabiliser.
We could get down to 60% full from the mornings 100%.

Seems insanely long time this one can be alive.

And really nice counter balance i'd say.

There's actually very little difference in the camera's power consumption if it's recording or just in standby.

Oh right, I remember Philip Bloom's review in which he let the camera run continuously with and without recording. Didn't make a difference.

What's the difference between the Bebob battery models? (Effectiveness of Lithium Manganese vs. Lithium Ion, model numbers starting with "A" and "V", and the V180C being more expensive than the V190?)

A lithium manganese (in Bebob terms the R or rouge model) will support a higher amperage load than their regular model - not a big benefit unless you're running portable HMI's, monitors, recorders, etc.

The "A" is for Anton Bauer mounts - The one with the three pins. The "V" is Sony Vee mount.

The "C" suffix includes a built-in charger, not expensive considering a Bebob dual charger cost more than a battery !

Comparable to the Dionic series from Anton Bauer.

If you have lots of time ^_^ The PB70C charger claims to charge a 70wh Switronix in 4-5 hours, so.... if you charge a 190wh battery, plan on 10-12 hours assuming the charger doesn't overheat. I think you'd be better off to get their charger if you go the Bebob route. Or hotwire a Bosch 12v powertool charger lol

It's certainly convenient having a charger built-in, one major issue is the less than 100wh limit for aircraft transport (at least in the 'states) which explains the popularity of the 95wh batteries.

Right, okay. Seems to be the same in the UK as far as I can tell. I guess I can always use my Switronix PB70 for travels.

I also considered if that would make any difference in load you have to carry. Lets say you have 2 batteries
with charger. So you have to carry 2 chargers as well.

True, I guess the V180C and V190 are the best options. What made you go for the V190 over the V180C? What charger are you using for it?

I use Bebob one and it seems that would charge faster than some other options talked here.

I have not measured by clock but i'd say 190 one charges in 4 hours or less. But it is a guess.

I also considered if i would have or need different batteries then external charger would help.

Plus the weight question.
