Dropped frames

Hi
I did not have any dropped frames that i know.. but i´m afraid of it.. so.. my question is:
when there is a dropped frame...
Does the red button blink for a moment (when the frame drops) or does it stay blinking after the shot?
will i have to be looking all the time at the red dot, or is it a clear sign?

It stays blinking throughout the shot, but disappears when you hit stop.
