Hyperdeck 2 Nikon D600 Uncompressed HDMI How to?

PostSat Sep 22, 2012 4:44 am

I am trying to figure out how to get the Nikon D600 to record uncompressed HDMI footage with eh Nikon D600.

I have the current 3.0 or 3.01 firmware but when I hook up the D600 to the Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 the video light does not come on.

With the 5d MKII and Canon T2i it comes on right away. So it does recognize Canon cameras.

Once I connect the D600 I get nothing.

Does anyone know of any settings that may need to get changed.
I set the HDMI output to auto and 1080i Neither worked.
Live View set to infinity.

Any help would be awesome.

I got the hyperdeck to recognize the D600 but only in low res. At least I have a connection. So I am positive it is the D600 settings that need to be figured out.

I will post any new info here as well.

I can not wait to get my BMC camera.....

To get uncompressed hdmi footage from the Nikon D600 with eh BM Hyperdeck shuttle.

You need to set the D600 to Live view mode. Then the Hyperdeck can record clean signal.

If you set the D600 to the movie mode it will not work.

Something so simple you think they could have put this in the manual..

Damn Nikon. After reviewing the footage it is not uncompressed and not even true 1080p, I think alot of people may be returning this camera if they do not get it in to gear.

Here are my findings on D600 to BM Hyperdeck Shuttle via HDMI:
After latest Nikon firmware, image is full raster (no back edge). You must press the "info" button on the D600 to eliminate the data overlay. If you simultaneously record to the card, then the image going to the Hyperdeck will be 720 vs 1080 as recorded on the card. So to get full 1080 on the Hyperdeck, you must record there only. You can only record via HDMI when in Movie Live View mode. Hope this helps someone.
