My rig

PostSat Sep 22, 2012 10:15 am

I know this is another rig post but I wanted to share my setup with you.

I may need to add some more counterweight to the back by the time the BMCC, lens and potential monitor are mounted.

Components:

Lanparte Matte box with flags
Lanparte quick release Follow focus
Lanparte quick release adjustable handles
Third party aluminum rails
Lanparte 4 hole adapter
Lanparte top handle
Shape shoulder pad
Shape back pad counterweight

Yeah i have the other post I was hoping might become a single place for rig talk, but it seems everyone is making separate posts, oh well... So how much do you love those front handles, I was looking at either those or the Shape handles. It just seemed like the Shape handles have no way to go from side to side at all, so I'm definitely leaning towards those Lanpartes with the rosettes...

Hey Sean

The Lanparte handles are great, solidly built with tooth clamps and are fully adjustable unlike the Shape ones. They're also a good price and slightly longer than the standard Shape one's I believe.

The quick release function is a good design feature meaning you don't have to remove matte box, ff etc to get to the handles.

I only discovered Lanparte a couple of weeks ago and now that I own a couple of their components I can highly recommend them, especially for the price.

Where will the camera go, in front of the top handle?
Will you be using a Evf/monitor?

Yep will be mounted in front of the top handle and I'm planning on getting an EVF/Monitor at some stage. Not sure what one yet.

Would you mind giving us an idea of your cost involved with your rig. It would be nice if some companies would build some discounted packages or kits for the BMCC. I know I would like something like this.

I would like to see a LANC control added to the grips.

Hi David

The parts for the rig came to a total of approx £1,140.
