Is the Pocket Cam still shipping on schedule? Is it ramping up or has shipping slowed or stopped while BMD examines the white orb thing?

I was wondering that too.

I got mine last week. Between work and rain, haven't been able to do much with it yet!

I have no idea. I had a pre order with BH. I totally forgot that I had signed up for a pre order with a smaller reseller (mac business solutions). They called out of blue and said they had one for me. I was #4 on the list. They had around 150 pre orders. I canceled my pre order with BH.

CVP tweeted yesterday: Since my last post we've received 2 units which have been duly dispatched to the first two awaiting customers! Wow!

B&H, 4/10, 1PM, haven't heard a thing.

CVP today: If you ordered in the first hour you'll be in first 50, but that could be several months wait as we've only shipped 2 so far!

I wonder if they are still in full production mode or they stopped manufacturing the camera till they figure what up?

I've also been wondering this.

I ordered mine from Adorama April 9th and its arriving tomorrow.

Interesting, I pre-ordered with Jigsaw way back in early April. I phoned them yesterday for news and they said they hadn't heard anything from BMD and still had no idea when they'd receive any. So, I think I'll call them again today and ask for an explanation. (ordered from the Nottingham branch by the way)

BMD does not communicate at all with their distro, no sense in beating them down, it will do no good, best to sit and wait or go get a bmcc

It was real late in the day and when I called initially (in response to an email) it wasn't on the first guys system, he had to access a colleagues details to find the order. No conspiracy/ineptitude just the vagaries of an order system I reckon.

Phoned today and was told I'm #10 out of 60 odd, so maybe not long now (fingers crossed - it's like being a kid again waiting for Christmas!)

no idea, never bothered keeping a note but it was at NAB time

CVP have now changed their expected stock arrival date to the 27th of September...

"Shipping July"!!!

This situation is getting absolutely ridiculous...and the complete lack of information from BMD to us and the distributors is appalling...its as simple as that...

My B&H status changed from "On Order" to "In stock, order sent to warehouse" and my credit card was just authorized. Yay!

Just knowing that the order of another B&H customer is close to fulfillment sustains me.

Someday, my BMPCC will come!

I got my confirmation email on 4/8 at 4:21PM EST.

But hey, nobody know if they stopped production and/or delivery due to the blooming effect, or if they are still speeding up the production and are going to send out more and more cameras soon. So all estimates are pointless, now more than ever.

I remember that once they fixed the CC 2k5 and started production and delivery for good it took only a couple of months until they were in stock (in the US at least), just in time for the price drop.

My speculation ran along the lines of: If it's full steam ahead on shipping, then it must not be a hardware problem. Now watch someone point out that it's a "CINEMA" camera and no pro would attempt to use it in daylight without 3 inches of ND and it was never intended to be used off of a controlled set...

Plain lying on customer's face. The joke is on the people waiting on their cameras.

Dear Black Magic, Are you even serious about your customers? If yes what happened to all the learning you have done last time?

We are one month away from announced shipping date and not even first 2 hours of preorders are met. Forget the production camera, I would grow a bitter old man if I count on it.

Cancelled my pocket camera 3 weeks ago and went with the BMCC. best thing I ever did! the problems occurring with the pocket and the constant delays now would have driven me mad. Now I have a better camera and I didn't have to wait a single day, I just drove to the shop and picked one up I even bumped into Phillip Bloom who was picking his pocket camera up (the only one in the UK at the time)
