I am looking for the best LP E6 battery for bmpcc 4k. without getting stuck in it.
I would like to use the camera as minimum as possible for some handheld shots.
Now there is probably enough written about this, a link about this is also fine ..
I now have an official Canon charger but it does not charge the bmpcc 4k battery don't know why ??

The Canon chargers only work on actual Canon batteries, not any of the third-party versions such as the ones supplied by BMD. I think Canon recently came out with a higher-capacity version of these LP E6 batteries, which would probably be the ones to get.

There's no such thing as "best" battery but a reliable one will be the Canon brand. I have both a Canon and a Watson charger. The Canon charger will not charge batteries that are not Canon but my Watson charger will charge any brand of LP-E6 batteries. That's as far as I know. Other chargers have different mileage too.

The new LP-E6NH battery has 14% more capacity and costs US$16 more ($79 vs $63). It may be attractive if you’re using one of Canon’s new cameras because it can be charged in the camera. Otherwise, it’s a fairly significant premium.

Peter,

If you don’t already have a stock of Canon batteries, it’s worth at least considering one of the smaller V-mount batteries. The 50Wh Hawk-Woods that I have fits in a shirt pocket and is equal to about five Canon batteries. It is also $65 cheaper than five genuine Canon batteries, and it is not the cheapest V-mount either.

Have a look at the following post to the end of the thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=105319&start=250#p673191

There is a table comparing V-mounts under 100Wh in those posts as well as tables with detailed battery runtime data for a Pocket 4K.

Personally, I’m convinced that a 50Wh V-mount, run from a jacket or shirt pocket, or from a small pouch on one’s belt, is a better way to go.

I use the Wasabi BTR-LPE6-JWP. Costs about $10/ea and have 2600 mAh. Lasts longer than the Canons.

These are popular, and they may be fine, but I would want to know why Canon doesn’t pack 2600mAh into the enclosure for the lithium ion battery that it sells. Canon has increased the capacity of its LP-E6 batteries twice, but it is still way below 2600mAh.

I think the reason for this is because there is very little regulation to hold Chinese battery manufacturers accountable for truth in what they quote as mAh for their batteries. I’ve bought too many no-name batteries over the years that quoted ridiculous mAh ratings when in fact the batteries barely last compared to the lower mAh genuine batteries. These days I only buy from reputable battery suppliers, because the SE Asian sellers just can’t be trusted.
I bought 12 x No name 2650mAh batteries a couple of years ago via AliExpress, and they could barely run my pocket 4K for more than 5 minutes.
