Newbie here! Please help.. NO AUTOMATIC FOCUS?

I just my EF Blackmagic and I got a EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens and the automatic focus it seems to not kick in.. any ideas why? sorry.. hope to get better at this.. :)

Hi
As I test some of BMD product, I know that this company release lots of hardware product that has lots of key and button that doesn't work at first. But they have plans to use them. So in future with a software upgrade and firmware upgrade, they fix it and you can use your whole hardware.
I have BMD Cinema Camera too and its focus button doesn't work until know.

For now the focus button isnt used to autofocus a lens but show focuspeaking instead.

Page 24 of the manual:
Focus Button on Pocket Cinema Camera:
When using Pocket Cinema Camera with an autofocus lens press the FOCUS button for focus peaking or autofocus. Press the FOCUS button once to auto focus. Press the FOCUS button twice for focus peaking.
When using a manual lens, press the FOCUS button once for focus peaking.

Focus Button on Cinema Camera and Production Camera 4K:
When using Blackmagic Cinema Camera or Production Camera 4K, press the FOCUS button for focus peaking.
