Will the Zacuto D-Tap power supply camera for the Cinema Camera work on for the Pocket Camera?

I'd post a link to it but it seems I can't, I've tried.

Thanks

I do not think so, the connector on the Pocket camera is smaller 11 see the tech specs for each camera, they give the connector size. You could cut off the larger connector on the Zacuto cable, and solder on the right size connector. ,it would be cheaper to buy a D-tap cable tha has the AB connector and a stripped wire at the other end, and add the correct sized connector.

See other threads on this site for correct connector.

It will not. However the parts to make your own power adapter off of any kind of pig-tail are available at radio shack or any other electronics store. Also, I believe there are adapters to take the 2.5mm down to a .7mm

Thanks for the help!

I found the right kind of cable at wooden camera, I'm not handy enough to make my own.

Here is an example of simple inexpensive adapters that will convert larger barrel adapters to the one appropriate for the pocket camera without any soldering. I am not sure whether your ptap connector is 2.1mm or 2.5mm on the barrel end. This is a 2.1mm example.

and here is an example of the 5.5mm x 2.5mm to 2.35 x .7mm solderless adapter/converter on a 6' extension for the pocket cinema. I think the Zacuto Ptap might have this one the barrel end.

The only problem with adopters on connectors this small, is the added leverage on the connection, which could cause damage to camera end, if pumped.

I've already bent a straight power tap in .7mm. i recommend one of the 90 degree ones and make sure to strain relief your cables. Also keep the battery in the camera and it'll default to internal power once you pull the external batt.

Adrian,
Have you been able to track down right angle converters? I only find the solder on variety, which I am happy to do, but the pre-molded ones are easier to work with and smaller...

I don't think I've seen any straight adapters; I got a pig-tailed version from radio shack to go onto an XLR-4pin for block batteries/steadycam ect.
