switronix PB70 drain

PostFri Sep 27, 2013 12:24 am

I have noticed an interesting phenomenon with the switronix Power base 70 battery. On a full charge of the PB70 and a full charge on the BMCC, if you leave the PB70 hooked into the DC power on the BMCC the battery will drain even though the BMCC is OFF. As anyone else had this happen?

I believe this is the BMCC's fault, rather than the battery, though I might be wrong. I connect my Switronix PB70 intermittently to avoid this.

The external battery will charge int internal battery, even with camera off, this might explain the battery drain.

Both batteries are/were fully charged before placing the pb70 onto the bmcc.

If you plug your full charged camera to the wall, it's still going to draw a trickle current. I guess instead its going to use your switronix battery instead. So no worries.

Seems normal. BMCC 100% doesn't mean it really at 100%. Could be near 79%. So your PB70 is charging the camera.
