Dear all,

i am a new user of a BMPCC6k and new here. I installed Blackmagic Camera Setup (7.2.1) on my Mac (MB 12" Early 2016, macOS Big Sur 11.2.1) yesterday. I wonder that the App (Blackmagic Camera Setup) tells me that my BMPCC6k Version 6.9.6 Software is up to date. I thought that 7.2.1 is the current version. Regardless of whether der camera is affected by the update with new functions.

Kind regards

André Heider

Also, it does not recognize the 6k Pro yet.
Device Manager reports no compatible driver available.
Yes, I installed Camera 7.2.1 before trying.
Windows 10/64 Pro, AMD Ryzen 7 on Gigabyte Aorus Board.

We do not update all the cameras with every update so this is correct for the Pocket 6K at this stage.

7.2.1 is the current version for the URSA Mini Pro 12K
6.9.6 is indeed the latest update for the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K at this point in time so what you are seeing is correct and expected behaviour.

This is because at the stage that 7.2.1 was released the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro had not been announced. The first camera software update that supported it was 7.1 but this was not bundled into the 7.2 and 7.2.1 release as the camera had not been publicly announced at that stage.

Both the 6K and the 6K Pro models (along with the Pocket 4K) will be updated in the next Cameras v7.3 update that Grant mentioned in the 6K Pro launch video.

Will that update add the 4K BRAW setting to the orginal 6K, or is there a hardware component with the 6K Pro which enables that mode?

Thanks.

Maybe they're focusing their efforts on fixing the P6K Pro issues first?

I second this! I just recently got the 6K Pro and tried to upgrade the firmware. Blackmagic Camera Setup 7.2.1 doesn't recognize my 6K Pro. Any reason why? I tired multiple connections; USB-C to USB-C and USB to USB-C.

I have noticed that my new 6K pro does not connect on both my windows pc and macbook air through Camera 7.2.1

My 6K pro is running 7.1 so when I downgraded Camera update to 7.1 it's connecting again

(?!)

7.2.1 was released before 7.1 because the PCC6k Pro was introduced later. So 7.2.1 is not able to detect the new camera.
