Just wonder if it technically possible to connect Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera Pro EVF to HDMI (or SDI) with adapter?

If it was a regular usb-3 then maybe unless it required some special software to work with the camera, If it did I personally only care for focus and would buy it plus still waiting for a capable lidar. If there work, out I will stay in the BMD universe. What has in besides DR is braw.

... and the full ecosystem from cameras, production gear, post production. I’m all in just expected something different today.

Maybe the global situation and its effects on the economy and manufacturing is making development more difficult and uncertain.

The socket on the camera looks about the same size as a full size HDMI port but looked to me to be not quite the right connector shell shape from the glimpse of it in the Blackmagic show and tell video. Be great if it was just HDMI but that would be just too good to be true.

I agree, John; while watching the video I also thought it looked like HDMI initially but when I checked the official specifications, it was a letdown.

Where did you read t the specs. To me it looks like a mini hdmi c but could be something else. I doubt its a proprietary connector.

I don't believe HDMI alone could power it.

Ricardo, on the Specifications for the BMVF6K Pro it would state if it was a version of HDMI. I do hope you’re correct though as that was what I thought I saw too. Perhaps BMD can clarify this shortly.

Kim, interesting analysis - makes a lot of sense. Would you have any guess what kind of connector for the display unit it is then?

Kim - I meant the actual connector on the EVF/6K Pro. Seems like BMD is likely using the Sony ECX337A Display https://www.sony-semicon.co.jp/e/products/microdisplay/oled/product.html, but the question is what kind of control board they are using and what sort of proprietary connector is being used to connect to the camera.

Yes, I know the connector is proprietary, but still they are likely sourcing it from somewhere, no? If you look at the other thread, I am actually interested in the power and image output in the camera, rather than adapting the EVF itself. I think the viewfinder port on the camera could present an interesting opportunity for other accessories :)

How much power would you assume it provides? I couldn't really find any power specifications for that particular model.

I detailed in the other thread (https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=135058) some possible applications. Unfortunately I am just a cinematographer and not in a position to realize those accessories myself, but still curious about the technical possibilities this new port on the camera could present.
