newbie question, camera slow "checking" SSD

PostSun Oct 06, 2013 6:02 am

hi,

just got cinema camera from B&H, shooting some test files ok, but each time i turn it off and then turn it back on it takes about 3 minutes and 15 seconds to "check" the SSD before it gives me the "ready" to record.

i was hoping the use the camera for gonzo style run and gun shooting, but having to wait over 3 minutes for the camera to allow recording to give me the "Ready" indication seems like i may have to keep the camera on all the time.

any workaround for this?

btw, SSD is OWC 480gb, maybe this is the issue?

any advice appreciated. thanks!

It's likely the drives fault, yes. The same thing happened to me when I was using a Cruicial drive; but then I switched to sandisks, and they boot in a second.
