Calling all Original BMCC 2.5 owners

Hi Guys

I'd like anyone who has one of these to list any quirks - I've just got one that has a line across the screen at start-up that goes away - two guys (WahWay and randga) have said they have one that does this - anyone else? Just want to know if it's worth keeping!

Thanks
Gary

Just tested mine BMCC 2.5k EF. Fresh out of its case where it has been since months. It did start within 2 or 3 seconds (battery was at 10%). No strange behavior.

But your description sounds like what the camera does after a firmware update. Maybe it got stuck in a routine? You could try to re-flash the latest firmware.

Hi Robert

OK I will try to find that. In the meantime here is a clip I shot of what happens, see what you think. Thank you for getting back!

I'll have to take mine out of it's storage box and charge it up to check it. Haven't really used it in years. Last time I used it for a gig was actually March 2020 as a wide camera left alone.

Mine started fine plugged into wall outlet. Only weird thing was the date. Um… did the camera go back in time?

No problem. It's nice to know it's still going strong after 7.5+ years. We're nearing the 7-year anniversary of shooting Rosary with it. Still my favorite music video I shot with the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 2.5K.
