Love for Canon 35mm f2.0 IS USM lens?

PostThu Apr 29, 2021 9:59 am

Morning all

just wondering if anyone has experience with this lens with the pocket 4/6/pro?

Looks like a decent lens - nice and small, fast and with IS?

whats the image quality like? focus ring? etc?

Its my go to lens for hand held work with the Pocket cameras. Focus ring is smooth for dSLR but it may have been design with video in mind. There is small amount of focus breathing but IQ is good, sharp and clean even when wide open.

Very good lens (just discontinued by Canon) and concur with everything Simon says. Canon's set of 24,28 and 35mm IS USM lenses are often overlooked but they are all good and vast improvements on teh non IS models they replaced. I just wish they would have updated the old 50mm 1.4 ( the 85mm 1.8 still just about hangs in there)

The 35mm works great on the 6K Pro, the IS is excellent.

Damm it! - another lens to add to my collection now then!

I already have the Sigma 18-35 as per everyone else!, and also the Canon 24-105 f4.

I bough the Sigma Art 24-70 2.8 this week and its a beast! - fatter and heavier than the 18-35 and not enjoying it at all! I thought it would be my run and gun lens over the 18-35 as it had the IS but the 18-35 is a light prime in comparison!!!

The Canon is great but F4 is not ideal and the image is not all that Sharp...so the 35mm F2 with IS and small foot print might just fit my needs!

thanks all!

I Bought that lens some days ago and so far I´m loving it. just PERFECT feel in hand with pocket 6k pro. Very good image quality and IS is amazing. But I will do more tests w/ it. Focus ring is very smooth good for doing manual focusing (not that ******* electronic focusing ring of some lenses). Tiny and very low height.
