So I've been using the Timelapse feature on the Pocket Camera a lot and I really love it. I do a lot of timelapse with my DSLR but I can't do anything faster that one frame per second. Also the raw frames are 18mp and require a lot of processing and rendering time. The BMPCC timelapse isn't quite as flexible but it has definite benefits. I love that I can shoot straight to 1080 ProRes and use much more frequent intervals.

The only thing that's missing is the ability to set a much longer exposure for exaggerated motion blur and streaking. If they could add the ability to do so in firmware that would be amazing.

Yeah, I agree its strange that longer exposure times cannot be set.
Does anything happen if you set the shutter to a 360 angle?

I am still awaiting my camera and so cannot test myself...

There seems to be a glitch with the BMPCC where the 180o is basically 360o. Some have said that if you compare them on an external monitor that they're exactly the same. Meaning the cameras basically have two settings for 360o and 180o is actually non-existent despite it's label in the menu.

But yes I've shot like that. It helps, but the point is that it would be awesome to have more blur.

I don't think there's any technical reason they couldn't do it. The Sony F3 (though it is a more expensive camera) can do it...

Even a lot of old crappy Hi-8/S-VHS cameras I used back in the day had some ultra low shutter speeds that would brighten up the image at the expense of extreme motion blur and lowered frame rate.

I assumed they had fixed that by now, seeing as how they have already fixed the black spot and white orb (granted with a hardware tweak).

Like I said I haven't tested it yet. But I haven't heard it was fixed. BMD only seems to fix things when people pick up pitchforks. And so far this glitch hasn't gotten the same kind of reaction.

Between work and Halloween I've been too busy to do much with my camera the past week. Maybe once the dust settles I'll take a closer look into it.
