Lumix Lens not working on GH4/5 Anymore?

I recently helped a friend shoot a self-tape audition with my GH4 and the Lumix 14-42 kit lens would produce an error message across the screen. This same lens works fine on my P4K.

I now see a person selling a lumix lens online that show the same error message on their Panasonic cameras and they are being sold for 1/4 the price ! I wonder if it will work on my P4K just like my example.

Is this a lens firmware update issue?

I just tried that lens on the 14-42 GH4 and the P4k. The lens works great on P4k like before but now on the GH4 the lens element does not extend normally so images are blurry.
