Hi all:
Just got my new Panasonic Lumix 14-42mm zoom lens and tried it out on my BMPCC. Although I haven't done an extensive test yet, I did compare it to my 14mm Lumix Pancake MFT lens and am amazed at the quality I got.
I'm not comparing this lens to any other lens other than my 14mm Lumix lens, but to my eyes, I can't tell the difference. Here are the specs. 14-42mm, F3.5-5.6 ASPH MEGA O.I.S/ MEGA S.O.I

Since I only got it 2 hours ago, I haven't had a chance to test the OIS but I did walk with it and it looks pretty stable. The weight of the lens is only 7 ounces including the 52mm ND filter and the Sun Shade. Very easy to handle. I used it with my mono pod and also shot the following footage using my tripod.

Now the good news! It's less than $150.00 Of course the only way to see true quality is to see the footage in Pro res HQ which is way too large to upload to you. So- here it is from YouTube.

Good stuff. I just recently picked up this lens as well. Got it used for less than $100. Great lens for the BMPCC.

Just to let you know IS does not work on this lens as it has no physical on off switch for is.

Once you turn on the camera, the IS is on.

From BMD

Does this mean now with the new firmware that the lumix 14-42 that has no physical ois switch will now automatically have stabilisation?

Nope, because the protocol to enable stabilisation is not part of the MFT specification. Hopefully, we can figure out how it works but right now, if the lenses don't have a physical switch, stabilisation is not supported.

So maybe some lenses switch on OIS automatically when powered on, maybe other don't, or maybe some lenses remember the last setting and may or may not have OIS active, depending on how they were used last... A lot of may's and be's. I hope panasonic opens up to BMD - i guess both companies could benefit from that: BMD cameras would be even more versatile than they are now, and panasonic lenses would be more attractive to BMD camera owners. Of course panasonic has their own line of cameras and probably wants to maintain an edge over other cameras.
