SDI to HDMI Monitoring issues BMCC

Ever since i received my BMCC a month or two ago, I have run into roadblock after roadblock when trying to connect HDMI monitors. First I went through one sdi to hdmi converter than didn't work at all. I sent that sdi converter back and got an entirely new one. This one functioned with my sanyo television in all frame rates with sdi overlays on and maintained my peaking and zebraing but did not work at all with the monitor. I sent that monitor back and ordered a Marshall M-CT7. I was able to get this monitor to work but only in the interlaced frame rates and it didn't carry over my peaking or my zebra. Also, i could not playback any footage.
Does anyone know why the television is working and the monitor isn't?
Also, is anyone aware of any hdmi monitors that DO work in progressive frame rates?
p.s. I am a college student who can't afford a solid SDI monitor.

There are a few technical specs you have to know and line up correctly.
The SDI output of the BMCC is 10bit 4:2:2, at the frame rate you are shooting at.
The input/output capabilities of your SDI-HDMI converter will also affect the output of the signal to your monitor/tv. Double check the output modes and make sure your monitor can accept them.
I thought switching to Interlaced output meant you go a clean signal only? (no guides or graphics on the image)

You are correct, the SDI overlays need to be switched off for the interlaced signal.
- here are the specs of the converter.
*SMPTE Standard: 425M Level A & B, 424M, 292M, 259M-C
*SDI Transmission Rates: 2.970 Gbit/s and 2.970/1.001 Gbit/s
*In/Output Resolution: 480i, 576i, 720p@50/59.94,60 ,1080i@50/59.94/60 1080p@23.98/24/25/29.97/30/50/59.94/60 1080PsF@23.98/24/25/29.97/30
Many monitors don't list their compatible frame rates.
I have found that many other people have the same problem as me but I never can find a list of compatible HDMI monitors.

Also, I know that the monitor works with 24p and other progressive frame rates because I tested it on a Canon 60D and T3i and it worked fine.
The television working is what really confuses me. I know the converter is not the problem and there is seemingly no reason why the monitor shouldn't function in progressive.

even though the canon frame rates are set to progressive the signal is sill interlaced (60i) i think. The blackmagic sends out true progressive frame rates hence why your tv sees it as its meant to see progressive inputs (dvd, bluray etc.) So get a monitor that sees progressive or just shoot in 25p with sdi overlays off.
