HDMI 24/25 on Pocket

It seems as my pocket hdmi-port only works when shooting 24 f/s and not 25.
Any one else having the same experience?

I'm shooting 25fps (haven't actually tried any other frame rate) and have had no problem getting a signal out of the HDMI port.

It works on my Pocket at 30fps

How do you know if it is the HDMI port. It could be that the monitor you are using is not able to display any of the other frame rates in a progressive stream, even though the signal is coming out the HDMI port. I would be checking my monitor specs. I have a 7" monitor and it will display all progressive frame rates on the BMPCC.

Mine works on my TV which is 1080p but it won't work on my 7" because it is 1080i

And there lies the answer. Some monitors can only display interlace streams at certain frame rates, and the BMPCC outputs a progressive stream at all of its frame rates to the HDMI port.

Doesn't it switch between progressive and PsF when you have overlays on or off, like the BMCC?

But the problem could be on either side, HDMI is some tricky stuff.

I tried a Zeiss Cinemizer, which I consider a nice option for the BMPCC when filming outside. It works flawlessly on a Red Scarlet at 25 fps, which is also strictly progressive. But with the BMPCC it only works at 23,98 or 24 fps, none of the higher rates. Yours seems to be a similar problem, and BM should definitely look into this.

It doesn't work at all on my (cheap) Liliput 5" monitor.
When I connect to my big (expensive) LCD Panasonic Tv-set it is black on 25 but after switching to 24 it works.
Very strange.
My knowledge on the hdmi standard is very limited (zero) but you would like it to just work as long as the cables fit. Right?
If there is something BMD can fix, please advise.

It's a little more complicated. Sender and Receiver at the ends of the HDMI cable can "negotiate" the best signal to use, depending on both devices' capabilities. Some devices are giving each other not many options, e.g. some cameras only offer exactly one resolution, the one they are recording at right now; others at least offer the same resolution in either interlaced or progressive; and only a few offer resolutions completely different from their internal display and recording format. Displays usually are more flexible (probably because of the stubborn cameras), but often are limited to interlaced signals, god knows why. Large home TVs often are surprisingly flexible, while field monitors tend to be more limited - at least that's my experience.

Does Zeiss have different pal/ntsc-models for europe and the rest of the world? Maybe there are 25 fps models as well - at least i hope so, because i was thinking about the cinemizer as well. Or any other, preferrably leightweight, cinema-goggles sporting at least 720p.

My Cinemizer is a European model, and it takes 24 and 25 without problems from a RED Scarlet or a GH2.

It's the best OLED you can find right now, the Sony is far too heavy and has weaker optics. The only alternative was announced but never became available until today.

Actually, the Cinemizer is not that great for it's original purpose, but very nice as a viewfinder: you can see enough of the outside world not to crash into other people or objects.

Yeah, it seems a little odd that they give a 24bit OLED display for these glasses and only a very low resolution.
