Fantasizing about Pocket raw- 2.5K?

I briefly had the BMCC, traded it for the pocket cam. When shooting raw with the BMCC, I appreciated the extra resolution I got from the 2.5k image, though I always just scaled it down to 1920;
Using Warp Stabilizer a lot now with my pocket in AE and Premiere, thinking of how nice that extra .5k in resolution would be for this kind of post-stabilizing.
Just fantasizing, and I'm sure this can be proven wrong immediately, just wanting to hear it from someone so I can forget about it.. is there any chance that when raw comes to the pocket, that it'll be 2.5k, as the BMCC is, with its 2kProRes and 2.5k raw? I mean I know it hasn't been said anywhere, and the specs say 1920x1080 only, but I mean technically, compression aside, would the sensor in the pocket be able to create a 2.5k image, or is it not a possible?

I would just say you get what you pay for. Otherwise with the features you ask for Pocket Camera will become the same BMCC, but with a price of 1000$.

Yeah, you have a point there.
And I'm not asking for it, I love my pocket as it is, just fantasizing aloud...

Maybe we all should use what we have and use our phantasies for our projects?

As far as I know, the sensor is native Full HD, not like many camcorders and alike that have 16 mp sensors.

It's not possible. The sensor is 1080p and does not have the photosites for a 2.5K image.

Dont worry! As soon the RAW is enabled on the pocket you can always Up-Scale!
A lot of guys tested the 2.5 to 4K and it's amazing! When you get both 2.5 and 4k outputs to a 1080P, the 4K has better look overall and less moire!!!
Raw is Raw, I will push my pocket for sure!

I was thinking the same, but even though the sensor is related it apparently not 2.5k, however I think it possibly might have been a little bit more than 2k, which would help with rolling shutter, so good idea Briwil.

The sensor is a 1080p sensor. 1920px x 1080px. So it'll only ever be able to produce a 1080p RAW file. Just as the specs state.
