BMCC shots are in chunks on SSD ?

PostThu Oct 24, 2013 4:05 pm

Hi guy's, my BMCC arived and I started wright away to shoot a test shot, al looks fine in start up and, also the menu works like a charm. I shot two shots , both in one peace, but when I playback I allready saw it was like a serial of shots. Opening it in resolve I see two shots on the SSD in two maps , but in te map the shot is cut to in pieces? like one shot separated in 8 shots? kind of interval. Wat am I doing wrong here?

Kind regards,
Guy

Eeeerrrr...

If I didnt get it wrong... But, ALL video is in fact a sequence of images displayed at a certain frequence, called Frame Rate. For almost all video on every camera, you get 1 file in which are all the "image sequence".
When you shoot Raw on the BMC, you get a sequence of DNG files, each beeing a frame of the video. Raw on the Red is only one file 'cause its compressed Raw.

Sorry if I misunderstood your question.

Hi , thanks , no I know RAW is in a a sequence of pictures , I understand an seeing that allready, but when you do on shot for example of like 50 sec, and you pull it in resolve, then you got one movie you see and you can playback. When I shoot 50 sec movie , the I have got 10 separated movies in resolve. like there was a stop and rec in between?

But I see now that the SSD might not be supported anymore;

The following SSDs are either discontinued or only supported as part of a legacy configuration and may no longer be available with the required firmware:

Kingston 128GB SSDNow V+100 (SVP100S2/128G) - (discontinued)

That sounds like dropped frames. When the camera drops frames (the "REC" flashes on the LCD) the sequence is split and Resolve sees them as separate clips.

Ok , I shot in ProRess and that works just fine, so it must be for sure the SSD card that is not able to follow the data rate :) , I ordered a 512 gig so hope to get is soon and shoot raw :)
