6K Pro noise

My 6K Pro is too loud. A persistent staccato bleat comes out of the top fan vents, and underneath the bleating, a constant buzz. If I put a mic up to the fan it records clearly. I can hear it sitting on my desk right now, three feet away. Who else has this problem? what did Blackmagic say when you asked them about it?

You should contact their support line so they can help you. If it is under warranty, they can address the issue faster than waiting here for answers and confirmation. Good luck.

Last week the rep at Blackmagic, Adam Taylor wrote "My technicians do not find the fan noise unusual compared to other cameras. What do you want me to do with this camera?" I replied that the fan noise is unacceptable in any camera and unusual for a Blackmagic. If they refuse to admit something is wrong, or at least check the fan to see if it's stuck or not working, that he should return the camera. The paperwork says that if they find nothing wrong as reported, or if a repair is ordered, the camera is returned in ten to fourteen days. I waited two weeks to get an acknowledgement and a third week has passed. Still waiting. No reply. At this moment I have no reason to think Adam Taylor is going to repair the camera or even return it.

I figured out that metal lens adapter rings cause the noise.
It's not the fan, but the noise comes out of the fan vents.
It sounds like some kind of electronic short or alarm.
I was using M42 to EF and Olympus OM to EF lens adapters.
When I took them off, and turned the camera on, there is no noise.
When I attach a native lens, there is no noise.
When I put a dumb metal lens adapter on, there is noise.
I like to work with vintage lenses, manual primes. They require adapters.

I did find one M42 to EF adapter that doesn't trigger noise.
Several etailers sell it on the AliExpress marketplace:

Seems like a mechanical resonance.

Perhaps. I have no idea, really.
Someone suggested that if I cut a piece of paper to put on the rim of the mount it might stop the electronic connections from sounding off, if that's what causes it. I haven't tried this yet.

I'm looking for an OM adapter that won't trigger the noise.

I'm having the exact same issue with my new 6K Pro, glad I managed to find someone with the same issue.

Relatively new camera, not a lot of mileage. Consistent 'beeping' noise emitting from the fans, 3 short ones and 1 long one. Also followed by electrical interference and noise visible in the recording, timing exactly with the 'beeping' interference.

It only happens when I mount a EF to M42 adapter for some vintage lenses (non-electronic). When this was removed, no noise! Native lenses = no noise either. Have tried 2 different EF-M42 adapters, same issue - must be the pins on the mount.

I tested a sticker on the mount where the pins made contact to stop a current, can confirm this works as a temp solution. Still on the search for an adapter that avoids this issue, no luck.

@Richard--W any luck with BM rep?
