Micro HDMI to regular cable

What type cable do I need for the BMPCC? Is it Type D? Anyone tried one yet and if so, what brand would you suggest?

I recommend a short, flexible type A female to type D male cable and plug in an HDMI male-male or whatever you need for your monitor.

The port on the camera does not seem very strong and I would avoid stress on it.
I'm planning to use something like this and fix the end to the cage.
This will move the stress away from the camera port.

As far as I've read and heard, only the Sony Micro to Standard HDMI adapter cable is certified for 1080p, as many others are designed for 1440.

This one works fine on my Pocket cam. I don't have a portable monitor yet, but I use it to feed a signal to my Panasonic plasma TV. They make different lengths (unfortunately the shortest is apparently 3 ft. The cable part is pretty heavy duty. I've used their other products and never had a problem.

+1 on the need for a cable clamp or similar to secure the micro-hdmi plug to that fragile receptacle on the camera. Haven't figured out a solution I like for that one yet, but will probably do a DIY with my Wooden cage. Wooden sells a cable clamp that should work, but I don't like the size or the price.

since it is a coiled cable which is far more flexible and adaptable to different kinds of mounts. I fix it to my cage on the camera end to prevent accidental pullouts

@Patrick Finnegan...good recommendation Patrick. I use the same cable however I have the one with the 90 degree angle on the Micro HDMI side so it is not sticking out too much and is in less danger of being pulled out while hand holding the camera when you have an EVF installed. The 90 degree connector directs the cable upwards. Most of these coiled cables are about 18" in length but can stretch out to more than 3 feet if needed. Also, I'd like to note that the cables from China are a bit stiffer compared to ones I got from Japan which has slightly thinner wires and is more flexible. I prefer the latter. I just wish I could have gotten more when I was there.

I looked exhaustively for the right angle version and could not find them. Did your japanese supplier have an online presence they might be ordered from?
