Hello everyone, thanks for the help on the SSD purchase! Are there any issues with the line out signal for the microphone on the Black Magic Cinema?
I'm just curious, because there may be instances where i would use a shotgun mic and attach it to the camera's line out.

If you are using a shotgun, you will likely need phantom power for it, and the signal FROM the shotgun will have to be sent to the camera. It would go to the INPUT of the camera.
In my case, and I recommend: I use the Sound Devices MM-1 audio box, which powers the shotgun mic and processed the signal to a LINE OUT which goes on a BALANCED (noiseless) XLR to 1/4 inch cable to the Cinema Camera, where the input is set to LINE.
What is good about the Sound Devices MM-1: first, it is Sound Devices, the gold standard name in field audio recording for a long time. Second, the device combines simplicity with awesome professionalism. It utilizes extremely high quality limiting circuits on both the incoming audio from the mic, and on the line output.
What this means: say you are recording a vocal track with good level, when suddenly, the level goes haywire with an unexpected screaming match. The limiting circuit will almost always handle this with aplomb, and save the audio from wretched clipping. It is almost impossible to overdrive the unit to the point of bad audio. Think of it as an enormous saving grace for field audio production.

I would agree that Sound Devise is excellent. I also love my Juiced Link preamp for the Black Magic Cinema Camera that I use on both my cinema camera and my pocket camera.
