I shot a gig yesterday with BMPCC and BMCC ( + 5 550s)
The two nightmares..

BLACK ORBS>>!!!!!!!...Pain in the arse.!!
The only way to stop them was to lower F stop ( from 2.8 to 6.0)
It was a little dark, but stopped the black orbs.....

VIBRATION....!
I had a heavy duty stand, and the bass drum was playing havoc with a long lens.
I had to really add weight to the centre of teh tripod....
BUT a lot of bass from subs traveling through floor and up tripod....

Looked amazing though... just hope I can sort out alll the ORBS and shakes.!

Just uploaded my footage from the concert folding.....

Bloody vibrations !!!!!!!... Two of the cameras , are almost un usable cos of vibration from the KICK drum.
Ive tried various plug ins and nothing is sorting it......so be warned, especially filming dance music, that you will need to sort this out.
You may have to go hand /shoulder held....good luck !!!!!

The footage is very nice from the BM cameras.... its very "reserved" compared to the Canon 550's which is Over The Top colour wise.
It all depends on the look you want.... the BM is a CINEMA camera, and most people are used to the start HD tv cameras, the BM footage can look a little dull and smooth.

BUT good luck.... with the vibration issue....ANY THOUGHT of a sillution much appreciated.
BOTH repairing the footage and future shoots.

Cannot emphasize this enough: get Panasonic lenses with Power O.I.S. or Mega O.I.S. But if you're stuck with the footage you already have (or if the optically stabilized footage still has some shake), Adobe Warp Stabilizer is brilliant.

Im not convinced that IOS would solve the KICK drum issue at a loud concert...may be wrong.
As I used IS on my canon lenses for the shoot and it still wobbled everytime a kick drum hit.

Also im on FCX, so havent got access to WARP..

Ill upload something later.....as sorry I meant Loaded IN, as logged it all into FCX.

Not quite as robust as Adobe Warp, but inside FCP X, use the inspector on a clip to enable Stabilization and see how that goes.

Thanks Paul
Ive tried the Stabilisation in FCX , and it does not touch it really.
The problem is that you almost have some motion blur within a frame.??? bit of a nightmare

There's nothing to really solve your problem in post, motion blur from a shaking camera can't be undone. You can stabilise the framing, but this will only make the motion blur more noticeable. And there might also be distortions caused by the rolling shutter (jelly effect), which can't be eliminated completely. Sorry.
