BlueConnect APP for BMD Camera Control

I have used all available APPs for iPhone to control my Pocket 6K camera:



The BlueConnect last night released an update that adds the capability to trigger START/STOP recording using the iPhone volume buttons.

However, you can trigger recording using a paired BlueTooth remote also.

I used the Joby Impulse BT remote, and it's working great.

Triggering REC from a BT remote can benefit gimbal or tripod users with fluid heads, to start/end recording after a smooth pan/tilt motion.

We actually use this app for all of our shoots, its a really great addition to our arsenal of tools, and we pair it with a CineEye Air and an Android tablet, so we have full remote control and full visibility of our shoot.

What do you think of Artemis Pro? I wanted to purchase it, but it's been getting a lot of negative reviews lately, at least on Android. Seems to be some sort of update that makes the app unstable and crash often.

Artemis PRO + Helios, both are the most useful apps to know which lens to use at each location and to find out the best sun position.

Using the what3words app and google maps can help you reach the exact location.

However, I have seen that Artemis is not ready yet for Android.

You will have more options with Helios PRO, as use google street view to locations away from you and then add virtual 3D models (human/object/building) to see how the sun will light up and how their shadow will look etc.

have helios and artemis too - but if must go fast, sun seeker is the best option for me

After reading your post, I bought myself a Joby Impulse. However, i am unable to pair it with my blackmagic pocket 4K. I reset the camera and tried. It did not recognize the impulse at all. Is there any trick you would share?

After reading your post, I bought myself a Joby Impulse. However, i am unable to pair it with my blackmagic pocket 4K. I reset the camera and tried. It did not recognize the impulse at all. Is there any trick you would share?

Hi,

Connect the Impulse with your iPhone.

The Joby will trigger REC to the BlueConnect APP.

The APP will send the command via BT to your camera.
