"Ordu, Texas" first work with BMPCC

PostSun Oct 27, 2013 6:12 pm

Hey there,

We have just bought our BMPCC and used it on our documentary movie "Ordu,Texas". I would later write my pros and cons on the camera, but first wanted to share the results with you.

Shot with BMPCC+Panasonic Lumix G X Vario 12-35mm f/2.8, Olympus M.ZUIKO Digital 17mm f/1.8
Edited in Premiere, graded with Speedgrade using Osiris LUTs.

Hope you enjoy it.

Very good looking. Was your colouring mostly in post? Or did you choose that colour palette with the items you were shooting?

Amazing stuff. I'm also interested what kind of rig do you use here with BMPCC, esp. on the shots with the slider (?) — I'm accustomed to a heavier rigs and, having BMPCC for a bit under a week, slowly try to rebuild myself around a lighter setup. So yeah, any advice on that would be appreciated.

Excellent work. Shows you do not need to shoot an "epic" to do good work. You can do a lot with a nice "short".

Well, I got BMPCC in my hands just a day before shooting. Set it to film mode, put the zebra in %90, tried to keep asa as low as possible (didnt have the time to test it out). The coloring was Osiris LUT as a base, and then details for matching the look between the shots in speedgrade. I wanted a teal&orange feel cause the story was about 70s...

Well, to be honest we dont have a really good rig or equipment. We have a atlas 10" cinevate slider with no motors on it. And a manfrotto tripod with DV501 video head that was all. I put the slider with an angle to the ground so the movement is smoother than by hand...
