BMPCC 6K Pro Ronin RS2 and RSC2 Now Working.

PostThu Jul 15, 2021 7:56 pm

Hey everyone,

BMPCC 6K Pro + DJI RSC 2 and RS2

I just tested the BMPCC 6K Pro with the Sigma 18-35 with
the new Ronin RS2 and RSC2 software update.

As of July 15 2021, the focus, auto focus and recording functions
are all working on the Ronin RSC2 with the latest version of BM software.

Here's a video that shows how to connect to the DJI RSC 2.

Do you need optional counter weights or off set plates in order to get it to balance?

offset is always necessary with the ronin - counterweights depending on the weight of the lens,
or use of a mattebox

but it is easier and faster to balance with counterweights

Roll is tricky. I can get it balanced but roll never stays put.

Works fine though.

I do have a small rig offset plate.

You need to tighten the clamp of the roll axis really hard. Otherwise it's too loose and won't work like it should. It is because of the carbon fiber giving in more than metal.
Saying "Thx for help!" is not a crime.

Tightening the roll axis changes the roll balance to on mine.
Tighten loose-bottom heavy, tighten hard-top heavy.
I managed to place a stripe of paper inside the locking mechanism
and tighten really hard to get perfect roll balance.
