What is Cinematography?
The art or technique of capturing moving pictures, including both the shooting and development of the film.

In Today's perspective and it's simplest form, it is about the art and the eye of a Photographer or camera operators perspective, Hence the name Director of Photography.

A wonderful combination of technical skill and the pure artistic view of how to best transfer something in life or in a play to celluloid or digital form. I would say many can master the technician part but only a few the artistic.
Many painters but only a few Leonardo daVinc's out there even though they are using the sam tools.
