Re-calibration

PostWed Oct 30, 2013 12:50 am

Received my BMPCC last month, and it needs to be re-calibrated for orbs... But I would like to wait until I have another one before sending it in (I am planning on having two) - is there a limit to how much time can pass? And is recalibration free?

Previously BM admins have stated that there is no time limit to get the cameras re-calibrated. There is not cost involved. You apply for an RMA and then send it in.

I would call in and at least book the RMA at this point so that when you do get your 2nd camera, you can hopefully just send it in at that point for the recalibration.

Thanks for the heads up Tony, I actually posted another thread here asking if the symptoms were in fact the dreaded "orbs" viewtopic.php?f=2&t=14571 mind taking a look and let me know? I just don't want to lose time with the camera if this is not fixable.

Just from first glance at the photo you posted, it's hard to tell since the light is out of focus. The suggestions made by the others in the thread seem reasonable to validate any issue you might be having. You can also include the shots you have in your email to support.

Just so you know, I would email those shots in first if you're not in a hurry and give the support folks some time before calling in since they spend a majority of their time answering calls. Same suggestion still applies even with you calling in. Hope this is somewhat helpful.
