How do you know their service is way too expensive? Have you got a quote from them?

Because Blackmagic is not in the file recovery business. Implementing such a thing takes time, money and knowledgeable engineers.
What Blackmagic has implemented is that the camera constantly finishes writing to media every few seconds. In 8 years with 4 different Blackmagic cameras I have never lost a file (or got an unreadable one) after a power loss.
So the question is, did you maybe cheap-out on your recording media?
