URSA 12k - defect in recording

PostThu Nov 25, 2021 2:45 pm

Hi,

Got a strange defect in my recording today in form of a "vertical band"

It´s OK in one frame, but in the next frame its fully visible - and then slowly fades out to clean again. Duration of defect is about 6-7s.

Shot at 8k, 16/9, 25fps, CB 12:1. Recorded with URSA mini recorder to a u.2 NVME drive.

Faded, but still visible:

Did a recording after I noticed this and it looks clean.

Should I just re-record and hope for the best - or should I send it back?

Camera is about a month old. Latest firmware on both recorder and camera.

I’d get in touch with either your dealer (for a dealer exchange if that’s an option) or better BMD Support for your region and send them the portion of the clip. They may request that you keep an eye on it in case it reappears (or you may never see it again). That way you will have documented the issue.

This would be something to go back to BMD for a repair.
