I am showing about 3gbs for a 1 minute clip. I thought the bmpcc was going to have a compressed file type, am I wrong?

You mean 3GBs per minute?
That is compressed, quite a bit actually. I'm guessing your dng's, if they're like mine, are between 1.8 to 2.2mb each? That comes to about 20min of raw on a 64gb card, which is about right.
If you shoot with Magic Lantern on a canon (which is uncompressed raw), each dng will be about 5mb; so yeah, this is as its supposed to be.

Well calculating from your numbers you get about 2 MB per frame - compared to the BMCC with 4.76 MB per frame. With uncompressed DNG the BMPC should have 1920x1080x12/8 = ~ 3 MB per frame

Seems about right. BM said months ago that they aim at a light compression of about 1:1.5, just enough to make the data rate viable on sdxc cards.

we now need a 'time remaining / fuel gauge' more then ever with raw. with prores you can quickly calculate how much is left, however with raw it's going to be impossible.
