Zebra % range question

PostMon Nov 29, 2021 6:04 pm

Hi, Do the newer Ursa / blackmagic cameras offer an expanded range for zebras? my Ursa mini 4.6k only has 75% and higher. I think it would be handy for it to go down to middle grey 38% and caucasian skin 48% levels. But have it bracketed so it would only zebra say 34% to 42% for middle grey. or 44% to 52% for caucasian skin.

So you could have this turned on as an option while shooting instead of false colour.

Maybe I’m a moron but doesn’t false color do this and in a much more useful manner than zebras?

It does, but try shooting while using false colour.

Jon is correct, Zebra can be ON while shooting without being so distracting as FC and on some cameras you can specify a range (like 35-40%) and even have two different zebras and the best thing is that they aren't nearly as distracting to shoot with and have ON while you're shooting.

Two Zebras that are user selectable in a range from 0-100.

I'd love this kind of feature and used to ask for it all the time ;-)
