Submitted a bug report here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/in ... e=wishform
Lets see what happens next.
******BUG******
Concise problem statement:
Premiere Pro will not open nor decode Black Magic DNG files from the BlackMagic Cinema Camera.
Steps to reproduce bug:
1. Import or drag the sequence of DNG files from the bmpcc into premere pro
2. They will be recognized as a sequence of DNG files
3. Error message appears.
Results:
Unable to Deocde , or File missing metadata error sequence is not usable.
Expected results:
Files should import into the bin for use in the edit.
Files are fully decoded and usable in After Effects and Photoshop so the files are compliant.
Lets see what happens , this will help my workflow 6.023×10^23 times

There's no noise reduction options though, as I understand it.
Plus I have a Red Scarlet on the way, I think Resolve Lite doesn't handle 4K.

Hey Rob,
I filled out the form and within an hour heard from my friend/former colleague who's now at Adobe and who's worked in the video group for many years. He himself has a Pocket and indicated the engineering team has files, cameras, and firmware. They are getting a lot of requests. He said to "stay tuned".
I guess because Cinema DNG is a spec, there is some latitude as to how it gets implemented by each manufacture. Hence, it takes some time to respond after each finalized implementation.
Mark Jamerson wrote:You need to Debayer through resolve then edit the timeline in Premiere, than export an XML of the project, import back in Resolve which will leave you full quality DNGS with the new update timeline cut.
Steve Holmlund wrote:Yes, I saw that, too. I had filed a bug report in November and just received an email this morning. I have been impressed with Adobe's ongoing enhancements since they moved to the subscription model. Since I need several of the apps for my work, it's a no-brainer and nice to have access to the entire library of Adobe stuff.
