Hi, I just upgraded my new blackmagic design broadcast g2 camera with camera firmware 7.7 (which only upgraded to 7.5). After a day, the flip-out screen starts flickering non-stop. After a while, it cannot be usable. The screen flickering is very disturbing. The viewer finder also has issues. The entire viewfinder has red color lines (similar to Peak display).
Is this is a defective flipout screen (only 30 days in use), or is this is firmware defect?
WHAT I HAVE DONE 1. factory reset - no use 2. downgrade - install camera update 7.4, 7.5, 7.6 and 7.7. it does not downgrade. (need help how to force downgrade - the screen issue only happened after i upgraded the firmware) 3. press PGM to reset - no use 4. power off/on - no use
Initially, I can record to an external SSD drive despite the flipout screen is flickering. I tested using an external TV monitor and also a viewfinder.
Once after the screen deteriorated, the screen is blank black, the camera is not usable - not responsible to any button, power cycle or factory reset.
I finally sent the camera to Blackmagic for repair.
If it's a hardware defect, it's just unfortunate for a 31-day use.
