Thanks Uli, that's what I meant to say. I'm one week in on a two week very restricted calorie diet which should explain a lot.
Did it have a sustained effect? Because I want to try it myself.
With temporal calorie restriction it's reportedly tough to have long-lasting results. I never was overweight but started skipping breakfast to help with a metabolic dysfunction. It took about 3-4 weeks for my body to adapt - aka stop complaining. My body fooled me into thinking that I
need food in the morning to function only because it
expected intake. If it doesn't get it, it screams at you. Once that phase was over, I never had the urge for breakfast ever again, it's effortless. Stable insulin, brain works well.
Now I struggle to keep my weight up since all activity until noon is fueled by energy from body fat instead of glucose/energy from food.
But,
with all things nutrition, this may not work for everyone or have similar effects. I just want to point out the body's ability to adapt to a new habit over a relatively short period of time (1-2 month) may be easier to sustain than general calorie restriction applied to the same, old habit.
Now back to Ato...never mind.
