Ultra wide machine vision lenses for BMPCC

PostTue Dec 10, 2013 10:53 am

I'm looking at some machine vision lenses to use with Blackmagic Pocket. Looking at focal lengths of around 6mm to 8.5mm.

Would 1/1.8" (or 2/3") lenses cover the sensor of BMPCC without vignetting? Or do only 1" lenses work? I've seen one $600 1" 6mm Kowa lens working with good results

The table at the bottom of the page lists the BMPCC sensor size compared to others.

As far as i know 2/3" image circle is slightly to small to cover the s16 sensor.
