Definition of Q4 in america

Being from Canada i would some details on what you guys call Q4... up here it does end in april but i found this on wiki for the states:


1st quarter: 1 October 2013 – 31 December 2013
2nd quarter: 1 January 2014 – 31 March 2014
3rd quarter: 1 April 2014 – 30 June 2014
4th quarter: 1 July 2014 – 30 September 2014

Q4 for us is October through the end of December. Q1 starts in January.

The Australian financial year finishes June 30. Perhaps that is what they mean by Q4!
