Gyro stabilization not working on BMPCC4K with some lens

PostMon Jul 18, 2022 3:42 am

Gyro data is not being recorded by my BMPCC4K when using some lenses.
Gyro data is recorded when using a manual lens with no electonic elements. It is also working with some native MFT lenses such as Olympus 45mm f1.8. It works with a Metabones EF-MTF Ultra 0.7 mount with a Cannon EF 100mm F2.8 lens combination.
For some reason Gyro data is not recorded when using a Lumix 12-35 f2.8mm. I have tried with the Power O.I.S. turned "off" and turned "on".
Any suggestons to get the Lumix working?

interestingly, im also using an olympus 45mm—the F1.2 model—and it does not work. the camera settings indicate lens stabilization is activated and won't let me toggle the switch to off. this lens doesn't have a stabilization feature.

Ditto for me.

using 7.9, beta 6,

Panny f2.8 12-35 with lens stab off (or on), and also 42.5 Panny (lens stab always on I think? when on BMPCC4k)-
no gyro data in braw files.

disappointing . . . hopefully this is something they will address

I noticed this thing: using the manual Mitakon Speedmaster Cinema Lens T1 the stabilization option remains active but I cannot de-select or activate it because it remains inactive. While with the Panasonic Lumix 25mm f1.7 (H-H025) lens, the stabilization option can be selected or de-selected.

I've just tested the lens again after installing "Blackmagic Camera 7.9.1 Update" which arrived 27 Jul. The issue is resolved for this lens. The gyro data is recorded to the BRAW files when the O.I.S. is switched off on the lens.
