Motherboard

PostMon Jul 25, 2022 10:18 pm

I have an original Blackmagic pocket cinema camera and tech support tells me I need a new motherboard. I’m hoping to sell the camera and would love to know if there’s a reasonable way to fix it in order to be able to sell it. Thanks!

Unfortunately, no. If memory serves, the ribbon cables are bonded. Which means the motherboard basically IS the camera.

Good Luck

Plus, on close inspection the filter glass over the sensor of the original BMPCC often shows some stains from chemical deterioration. If that is the case, nobody will want it. Sorry.

The original BMPCC has a beautiful look, but it’s an opportunity to try the BMPCC4K or a BMPCC6K G2. I think you’ll like the additional features on a newer camera. And the colour ain’t bad. The Dual ISO sensor is great to have for low light. Just remember never shoot ISO 1000, go to ISO 1250 (through 3200) for an impressive result.
