Upgraded my BMPCC 4K to the latest 7.9 firmware, and ever since my 3.5mm audio is recording at a super low volume, in Resolve I am having to up the sound by 22.7-30db to be able to hear it normally.

Even tried a Mini-XLR to 3.5mm adapter and still having the same low audio issue with that also.

Adjusted audio recording level all the way to the highest also and that didn't help either.

Anyone else having issues with audio since upgrading to 7.9 or any ideas on how I can fix it, as it was working perfectly before I upgraded to 7.9.

In the Audio settings (touch the audio level display from your normal shooting mode), do you have your 3.5mm audio set at Mic level or Line level? Possibly it’s Line and shoul be set to Mic.

I'm having exactly the same issue on my 6k.

I too got a mini XLR to 3.5mm and that is the same as the 3.5 mm with low volume. I have to record externally now which is a pain.

7.9.1 fixed this for me.

Thanks' for the feedback, finally messed with the audio settings so much I finally got it working at a much better, level. Also just download 7.9.1 yesterday and going to upgrade to it today.

Will look at the settings for the Audio to let you know what I ended up having it set to. But even with that still had to bump up the db level for each channel on the camera to make it sound like it use to.

How are you managing with the audio using 7.9.1 firmware? Are levels behaving normally now?

Well had it working on 7.9 for 1 video.......the upgraded to 7.9.1 and now back to the exact same issue, tried to film yesterday and all 3.5mm audio settings were not even showing up on the audio monitor. Tried out my mini-xlr-3.5mm adapter and it helped some, going to be messing with it some more this weekend as I have at least 2 videos to shoot.

On 7.9 had it set to:

Channel 1 - 3.5mm Left - Mic
Channel 2 - 3.5mm Right - Mic

And changed nothing else and it was recording great sound, have it on same with 7.9.1 and now it's back to hardley any audio.

What adjustments are you making in the audio level setting? What values are showing?

Went through the settings and put it back on

Channel 1 - 3.5mm Left - Mic
Channel 2 - 3.5mm Right - Mic

Changed them to every setting for each one to test out the levels......

And it worked today.......not sure......going to keep and eye one it.

But glad its working right now.

First time owning a real cinema camera, and still learning all the in's and out's.......but I hope to get there one day.
