BMPCC 4k on DJI RS 3

PostWed Jul 27, 2022 2:23 pm

Hi, I'm considering buying a gimbal for my BMPCC 4k.

I see a lot of BMPCC users have good experiences with the DJI RSC 2.

Since my budget is rather small I'm opting towards the RS 3 rather than the pro version.

Has anyone tried this combo yet?

On the website I see that the RS 3 isn't compitable with any Blackmagic cameras, which I can't understand since the RS 2/RSC 2 was compitable.

Talking to a seller I got told this will only limit my options of controlling rec, aperture and shutter from the gimbal, which anyway I don't imagine being so important for me. And, hopefully DJI will update the firmware and compability later.

Just talked with B&H, they tested the BMPC on the RS 2, RSC 2 and the RS 3.

It physically fit's on all the gimbals besides from the RS 3, simply because the RS 3 is too small in size. Maybe it could work with an extension plate an counterweights but that is just my speculations,

I’d go with the rs 3 pro. The better weight/power ratio you can have the better performance you will get. Using counterweights works, but if you don’t have a support system for your gimbal every ounce can make a difference in terms of how long you can feasibly use it.

Can I ask what you’re planning on using it for?
