I want to get a EVF for my P4K and the Blackmagic Pro EVF is so small it would be great if I could just use an extension cable and a small clamp to plug it into the side hdmi of the P6K.

I don't think buying the Pro Version just to get the EVF is worth it.

I have a Portkeye LEYE and it's great but a bit bulky for discreet shoots on the street etc.,.

Had anyone tried this to see if it works?

the EVF does not work on the OG 6K because the connection is not HDMI only

You can't put it on an OG 6K because it wasn't designed for it. You can put it on a 6K G2 though.
