7.91 breaks Bluetooth on PCC4k with Portkeys Keygrip

It worked with 7.9 but I keep getting connection failures with 7.91. With the updated gyro in 7.91 I'd hate to go back.

BTW
I can connect my Android phone to the camera with 7.9.1.
Doing a factory reset of the camera does not help.

Carlo, I don't quite understand what you are saying.

So BM updated their BT protocol with 7.9.1? And now any hw device connecting to the camera must update their firmware? That doesn't quite make a lot of sense without some kind of update notes from BM (which hasn't happened.) Perhaps BM can comment and maybe other Portkeys users here can weigh in.

Sorry David, I wrote fast from phone.
Blackmagic Design in the last firmware update change Bluetooth protocols. Some app for smartphone had just updated the app for newer protocols, but some other tools (like yours) should not be up to date.
I agree with people that tells it’s weird, but it what happened.

Yikes. This will cause grief for anyone with a BT hardware device with older firmware.

Hopefully if you stay within the BMD ecosystem, your accessories will also keep up with camera firmware updates in a very short period of time. However BMD does support a lot of standards so third-party suppliers can integrate their gear with BMD cameras or other BMD accessories such as the BMVA12G7 with various other cameras.

Yes, hopefully. However Portkeys have not updated the firmware for the Keygrip since early 2021 and that update bricked my Keygrip and others, as well. The idea and design of the Keygrip is brilliant, but Portkeys support is not up to it, so far.

I spoke too soon. I was able to remove the camera as a BT device in the Keygrip firmware, create a new camera device and pair it in 7.9.1.

Good to know. Thanks for the update.
