Hello folks,

i have a problem with the audio from my bmpcc4k.

Gear: BMPCC4K, RODE Videomic Pro

If i plug the Rode Mic into the 3,5mm Jack i tried the following settings:

3,5mm left - mic, 3,5mm right - mic, Gain 50 = really quiet, unusuable

3,5mm left - mic, 3,5mm right - mic, Gain 100 = louder, but still not in a usable range, a lot of noise in the background because of the high gain

3,5mm mono - the same settings and results as above

An interview was shot, the microphone was 40cm away.

If i plug the Rode Mic into my Sony A6500 i can get a really good audio without noise and low gain settins (12).

Can you help me?

I'm sure that someone will identify if the same problems exist on the 4K as others (and myself) have on the 6K in that the pre-amps are terrible and that I would only use my Rode for "scratch" audio, having captured it on another device, that or having a shotgun mic and have it plugged into the XLR port.

on my pocket 4K I use the Rode Video mic NTG which works fine.
left channel --- right channel
mic at +48db --- camera mono at +4.8db

and the NTG set to 15

Exactly the same combo works perfectly for me. I would never use that particular mic for interviews though…
