I just recently was informed about the availability of this Blackmagic training resource for DaVinci Resolve -
https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/produc ... e/training

Is there a similar Blackmagic training resource for the BMCC 6K Pro camera?

Please let me know if there is one available.

Thanks!

To my knowledge BMD has never offered training resources for their cameras.
Do you need a general camera training as a beginner with no camera experience or are you looking for some specific training on the pocket series as someone with experience in other camera systems?

If it is the latter, then you could start reading the camera user manual while playing with the camera. The menus are very straight forward. Any specific questions you come by then could easily be answered here on the forum.

I fall into the second category. And I have already begun the process you recommended.

There is a difference between a reference manual and training. The manual for the BMCC 6K Pro is more of a reference manual. It is not training in the same sense as the training I referred to in my original post - which, by the way, I think is rather well done. Now, granted Resolve does merit training more than the camera. But the camera could benefit from some training as well.

Blackmagic is a trailblazer of sorts in introducing cinema cameras to those, like myself, who do not have a background in cinema cameras or film school. Regarding the camera reference manual, I do not find it the most organized manual I have ever used. For example, it could benefit from an index where you could easily look up things. I find it rather difficult to use and even locate things easily. In my opinion, it could merit from a revision at some point. But, I am learning a lot. When I started with the camera I didn't even know what ISO was.

Thanks so much for your help! Thanks to people like yourself, Blackmagic has a great forum!

Thank you for your kind words :-)

Most browser support searching in a PDF so you could use CTRL+F to search for any keywords you want to locate. Personally I am using the Vivaldi browser which does this in a great way, by also putting markers into the scroll bar area so you can visualize the location of the found words.

But I understand what you mean when you say you would prefer a training document.
Although in this case a training video would be even better suited.

Most people coming here for help had questions about the audio section, high frame rate mode, timelapse mode, BRAW compression schemes and which media to buy. And many questions about rigging up the camera for specific tasks.
